ARISE! Summer Youth Program
WHDC launched the ARISE! (All Rising In Strengthening Excellence) summer program in July 2017, providing West Harlem youth between the ages of 14-18 years old with paid summer employment and academic enrichment for six weeks in July and August. Workshops include job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, and participation in community service activities. MCD9 youth are paid $15 hourly to work in the community for local nonprofits, businesses and government agencies.
2019 ARISE! Program Dates: July 8th – August 16th
- Minimum of 14 years of age (by the start of the program)
- Must be an 8th grader going to High School or a Freshman, Sophomore or Junior in high school during academic year 2018/2019
- Proof of West Harlem – Manhattan Community District 9 (MCD9) residency
- NY State Working Papers (if you are 14-17 years of age)
