ARISE! Youth Development Program
WHDC launched the ARISE! (All Rising In Strengthening Excellence) youth development program in July 2017, providing West Harlem youth between the ages of 14-18 years old with paid summer employment and academic enrichment for six weeks in July and August. The program included job readiness, career exploration, mentorship, and participation in community service activities.
NOTE: WHDC is closely monitoring official recommendations for combating the COVID-19 pandemic. Pending further updates, we are cautiously optimistic that this summer’s ARISE! program will take place. All precautions will be taken if and when the program begins. Please note that in our hopes to offer the program to West Harlem’s youth, it may also be necessary to make changes to education and employment activities. We encourage the completion of an application and will keep all youth applicants informed around each phase of the application and enrollment process.
