New Leadership at West Harlem Development Corporation (WHDC)
November 20, 2020
After eight years of service to the people of West Harlem, Dr. Kofi A. Boateng has moved on from the organization. The Board of Directors thanks Kofi for his many years of service with WHDC and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
WHDC board member and current treasurer Zead Ramadan will temporarily leave his post to assume the role of Interim Executive Director while the Board conducts an extensive search for a permanent replacement. The Board unanimously selected Zead, and we are grateful to him for accepting the responsibility. A former UMEZ board member of eight years and community board chairperson, Zead has hit the ground running and has made it a smooth transition.
Current WHDC board member, Darlene G. Bruce, Esq. will serve as the Interim Board Treasurer while Zead works to execute the day-to-day operations of the organization.
The Board has appointed an executive search committee which will set the procedures to be utilized in the expansive search and the qualifications for a new executive director. Once formulated, they will be posted on the WHDC website.
