Free! Attend Courses at Columbia University

Columbia University offers community members the opportunity to attend selected courses from the University’s offerings free of charge through the Lifelong Learners and Course Auditing programs.

These programs are available to the residents of the Manhattanville and Grant Houses, and the local Manhattanville community in the following qualifying zip codes in Upper Manhattan: 10025, 10026, 10027, 10029, 10030, 10031, 10032, 10033, 10034, 10035 (including Randall’s Island), 10037, 10039, 10040. The following zip codes in the South Bronx are also eligible: 10451, 10454, 10455, 10474.

The Lifelong Learners Auditing Program is designed for individuals 65 years of age and older who are committed to the principles of lifelong education. This program allows senior citizens not currently enrolled in college the opportunity to attend selected lectures and courses drawn from the University’s offerings in the Arts and Sciences during the academic year at no charge.

The General Course Auditing Program provides adults under 65 not currently enrolled in college the same opportunity as the Lifelong Learners.
