Education Programs

WHDC funds nonprofits to improve academic outcomes for children in early childhood, pre-school, primary, middle and high school; to at least double the percentage of students who attend college from 20 percent to 40 percent; and to improve outcomes for adults in education, training and vocational programs.

WHDC’s grant initiatives with local nonprofits focused on educational advancement have contributed to attendance rates increasing district-wide from 84% to 91% in the Public School District #5.¬†Increased attendance has translated into improved standardized scores for the district with PS 125 having the highest gains of all School District 5 schools.
